Rhimes, one of Netflix's most important showrunners, revealed herself to be part of the #SavetheOA movement with a tweet last night expressing disappointment with her bosses for canceling Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij’s mystery drama after two seasons. "I am holding a grudge about the fact that they cancelled the @The_OA on us," Rhimes tweeted of the Aug. 5 cancelation. "I thought it would pass but...not so much." Bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell responded to Rhimes, tweeting: "My feelings exactly." The OA's cancelation has prompted a fan outpouring that has included a hunger strike, billboards and flash mobs to grab Netflix's attention. As Vulture notes, Rhimes isn't the only one inside Netflix mourning The OA's cancelation. Marling wrote that the news prompted one Netflix executive to cry. |
