I have a question for last night's N@N episode. It was a 3 parter but i only saw the 2 parts out of 3.....it was the episode where Archie is missing. If anybody knows about this episode, could u give me any info on what happens and where Archie was or anything...thanx!!

Are you talking about the third part? In the third part, Archie only appears at the end of the episode. Where he was and why he was missing was never explained.

I don't think they ever told, but Carroll O' Connor had some classic lines and facial expressions in that episode. Just look at the scene where he comes in the door and Edith is hula hooping, Irene is standing on her head, Mike and Gloria are kissing, and the Jeffersons are dancing. Classic

Supposedly Archie missed the bus to Buffalo, so instead he took a plane. On the plane he met a Mormon, who was going to a foot doctor's convention in Rochester. Archie went to that convention instead of his, and he and the other doctors were arrested for driving on the wrong side of the street.

That three part story arc was made because O'Connor was in negotiations with Lear and Tandem Productions....if they didn't settle by the time the third part was filmed Archie was to be killed off....of course we all know it was settled and O'Connor returned at a substantially higher salary
