Why did Marla Pennington retire from acting - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Looking at her IMDb page, it stops at Small Wonder, which ended production 30 years ago. Now according to Marla herself, she left acting to start a family.

My personal instincts say that maybe Marla also saw the writing on the wall so to speak. What I mean is that Small Wonder to be brutally honest, was a very critically trashed show (even when it was originally on). Maybe she figured that it was going to be very hard to land really prestigious prime time network jobs after her highest profile role was starring on a campy, low-budget, syndicated kids show.

I watched the show as a kid and enjoyed it, lately I've been able to catch the whole series on YouTube and I still remember what a hot MILF Marla was.
