Markie in a NBC TV-Movie this November!

1st to Die will be coming out this November, it is a 3 hour movie
airing on NBC. Filming starts August 14th in Vancouver, the movie
stars Markie Post. Here is the press release:

BURBANK - May 10_, 2002 - NBC affirmed its commitment to quality
television
movies by greenlighting production on "1st to Die," the bestseller by
James
Patterson as a three-hour movie. The announcement was made today by
Jeff
Gaspin, Executive Vice President, Alternative Series, Specials,
Longform and
Program Strategy.

"Contrary to popular belief, NBC is not out of the television movie
business; we are just out of the 'movie-of-the-week' business," said
Gaspin.
"This ambitious project already has a devoted fan base and demonstrates
our
faith in the artistic efforts of the author as well as in the genre
itself."


"1st to Die" will be a three-hour movie projected for an upcoming
sweeps
period in which it will be showcased as an all-night primetime event.
The
movie is based on Patterson's ("Kiss the Girls," "Along Came a Spider")
gripping thriller that was a number-one bestseller in both hardcover
and in
paperback (after 14 weeks, it remains on the New York Times'
bestselling
paperback list).

The story concerns the serial killings of newlyweds and a female
homicide
detective who teams up with three other female professionals - a
reporter, a
district attorney and a coroner - to secretly form their "Women's
Murder
Club" investigative unit. Eventually, the evidence begins to point to
someone whom no one would ever have suspected.

The project will be produced by NBC Studios in association with Michael
O'Hara Productions and is expected to begin filming in late summer.
Emmy
Award nominee Michael O'Hara ("Switched at Birth," "In His Life: The
John
Lennon Story") and Steve White (the feature film "The Devil's
Advocate") are
the executive producers; O'Hara is the writer.

NBC's Jennifer O'Connell, Director, Original Miniseries and Movies,
will
spearhead the project for the network.

CAA brokered the deals on behalf of Michael O'Hara, John Wilder and
James
Patterson (in association with Richard Pine).
