I have to disagree with Lucille Ball, Jackie Gleason and Robert Reed. I Love Lucy , The Honeymooners and The Brady Bunch are what they're best known for TV wise, but Ball and Gleason went on to have respectable careers in TV and movies and Reed did so in TV.
