My mom's work sold Fire TV sticks at a discount because nobody was buying them, and some of the employees including her managed to get one for herself.

We're not getting it until after we get back from our vacation though.

Are Firesticks better than Roku?

I'm trying to find something that I can stream shows on a standard TV...I don't have a HDTV....

I have a ROKU, but would get a firestick if it weren't an Amazon product.

I've had a Fire stick for almost 2 years and it's stunning how many programs, movies, and apps you can get from it!

I know I can just look this up but anyone know how the Amazon Fire stick gets a signal?? It's not connected by any wires and there's NO antenna and it's attached behind your TV against the wall. Amazing!

Though we use Roku, I'm sure it's the same. No monthly fee for the device. We do pay for Amazon Prime and Netflix. But there are lots of channels that are free. Most have commercials, like Tubi, but the movies are uncut. Tubi itself has a huge selection of movies, most genres have up to 200 movies to choose from. Also TV series.
