The character of Dr Caldwell played by David Roberts was probably the funniest recurring role on Sanford And Son show. He was a "physician" who also worked part-time as a post worker.

Too bad he was only in three episodes.

In one episode where he made a house call to Sanford, he kept saying "I don't know" to medical questions Fred was asking him. So Fred got so frustrated and ask him if today was the day he suppose to be at post office
