Default When it comes to Beverly Ann, I'm probably in the vast minority....

I love Mrs. Garrett, I really do but maybe it's just her demeanor or her voice that gets to me sometimes. I thought (expected, really) that the show would go downhill after she left (and I think that's the majority rule), but honestly, I think I like the episodes with Beverly Ann better. I'm not really sure why, but she feels more like a "friend" rather than a housemother and I'm sure that was supposed to be the point.

I'm currently watching Season 9 and I've found that I like the later seasons (8-9) better than most. Granted the show is worlds away from the way it was when it started and I still cannot stand Tootie (She's gotten worse as the seasons go by), adding Natalie to that mix. I know they are the youngest but if I see a scene (or a vast majority of an ep) with them in it I fast-foreword through it).

But anyway, I like Beverly Ann. She does get on my nerves with her constant stories about the past but I like the fact that she adopted Andy and I like how she interacts with Blair, Tootie, Natalie and Jo.

Speaking of Jo, I really, really like her. She's really grown on me since she started in Season 2 and I think if it weren't for her I might not have continued watching all the eps I have on my DVR.

I don't think you're in a vast minority, Schmoopie. Several people here are fond of her.

I'm more of a fan of the original characters, but I can see how someone could like Beverly Ann.

...Now Kelly is another story...

If I remember correctly, I believe Beverly Ann's addition was considered number 1 on the jump the shark website almost two decades ago. Not a lot of fans enjoyed Beverly Ann. I think if fans were able to see season 8 like I do when rewatching it, they would see Beverly Ann wasn't pointless and actually related to the story of the series. She is awesome in season 8.

She was in season 5. She is the character who harassed the girls in the shop stealing and vandalizing the place. She was seriously annoying.

I can definitely see your point about Season 8 being better than Season 9. By the end, Mindy was literally phoning in her performance!
