Default A Collection Of Birthday-Themed Sitcom Episodes

I too like making themed playlists.

I’ve got over 50 music-themed playlists, and close to 25 TV-themed ones... give or take.

Me personally...I don't mind watching an episode or two from a series I don't particularly care for if it fits into a themed playlist of mine....

We all have birthdays, yet in the sitcom world, many birthday episodes usually turn into some sort of disaster or disappointment, which makes them fun to watch while celebrating our own birthdays alone, or in a group...or even at someone else's party.

They don’t have to be from your favorite series, or even ones you’ve seen, just post them, if you want, so we can compile a collection of them.

Giving a description is not required, but supplying the name of the episode really helps, especially if it’s a series the rest of us are not familiar with.
If not, maybe at least supply the season #?

Cake Fear - Mad About You ~ It’s 1995, and Paul looks back in reverse chronological order on five birthdays, then relives them again in chronological order, until he’s back where he started, at his current calamity.

Happy Birthday, Lou!
~ The Mary Tyler Moore Show ~ Lou hates parties, and he hates surprises...so why not throw him a 'Surprise Party'!

Crappy Birthday - The King Of Queens ~ ~ Doug has plans to watch a wrestling match, but it turns out it's on the same day Carrie turns 30.
He throws her a party alright, but it may be less than happy.

Diane Meets Mom - Cheers ~ It’s Norm birthday and he gets hit on the forehead with the cork from a wine bottle.

Never Look A Gift Tractor In The Mouth - Green Acres ~ Lisa wants to buy Oliver a tractor, or is it for someone else?

The One Where They All Turn Thirty - Friends ~ Everybody reminisces about their 30th birthday when Rachel turns 30.

Surprise Artie - The King Of Queens ~ Doug and Carrie decide to throw Arthur a surprise 75th party with a party list that includes two guests who are at each other's throats, but there's a reason that it doesn't bother Arthur!

Diane’s Allergy - Cheers ~ Carla receives unwanted gag gifts for her b’day.

A Surprise Is A Surprise Is A Surprise - The Dick Van Dyke Show ~ Rob thinks Laura is having an affair when she's merely trying to throw one for him.

The Deal - Seinfeld ~ Jerry and George are are baffled when it comes to choosing a gift for Elaine.

The Surprise Party - Everybody Loves Raymond ~ Debra's mother suggests to Raymond that she will throw a surprise birthday party for her daughter and Ray won't have to lift a finger.

Leave it to Beaver #53 (S2Ep14) - Wally's Present - Beaver planned to get Wally a camera for his birthday, but is irritated when Wally makes birthday plans that don't include him. So, Larry talks him into buying a bow and arrow set, which Larry promptly breaks. Beaver substitutes a cheap paddle toy for Wally's present, causing trouble.

Leave it to Beaver #160 (S5Ep04) - Beaver's Birthday - Beaver gets money from relatives for his birthday, and gets in trouble for spending the $10 Uncle Billy gives him, on a model car. The trouble stems more from lying to cover up what he did, than buying the model.

Father Knows Best #15 - A Friend of Old George's - It's Kathy's birthday, and the Andersons plan to take her to the circus. An acquaintance of an old friend of Jim's, Lyle, stops by and radically overstays his welcome, even inviting himself to their dinner. Eventually Jim tries a telephone ploy to get rid of him, which succeeds. When the Andersons arrive at the circus, they find it sold out, but all is OK when they find out Lyle is the circus manager, and he gets them ringside seats.

Needless to say Daphne is shocked. Thus begins the Will They, Won't They dynamic with Niles and Daphne.

Ben thinking Mike is serious does so and ends up with enough money to buy his dad and expensive camera. When everyone finds out the truth, Ben has to apologize to everyone and give the money back. Jason makes Ben see that a gift isn't how much you spend but the thought you put behind it so Ben decides to give the ashtray to his dad after all. Jason is touched by the sentiment and Ben has learned an important lesson.

They have to be strong and carry on or they will spend the rest of their lives afraid.

Growing Pains-The Birth of a Seaver Maggie goes into labor during Ben's birthday party and gives birth to a baby girl they name Chris, in memory of a man Ben met while waiting for his new sibling to he born, he was feeling ignored and feeling jealous. Some other ones:

All in the Family-Edith's 50th Birthday Season 8 Ep 4& 5--A would-be rapist attacks Edith on her 50th birthday.

Judging Amy - Happy Borthday- Season 6 Ep 14--Amy receives bad news on her 40th birthday.

Malcolm in the Middle-Lois's Birthday- Season 2 Ep 3-Reese, Malcolm, and Dewey are given money to buy birthday presents for Lois (with her even telling them what she wants) only for them to spend most of it on candy and give her cheap gifts instead. However when Hal also forgets Lois' birthday as well, she runs away from home and goes to a batting cage. Francis, who had come home for Lois' birthday, convinces an African woman to ditch her bus tour and see America with him instead. When he learns what Reese, Malcolm and Dewey has done, he disciplines them for their selfishness. At the batting cage, Hal and the boys throw together a lame makeshift party for her but Lois isn't impressed especially when she realizes this is literally the best they can do. However when the lead clown hired insults her, Lois witnesses first hand just how much her family really care for her when they defend her honor and get into a huge fight.

The Big Bang Theory- Season 9 Ep 11-The Opening Night Excitation--After an iconic Star Wars-like opening credit crawl, the men are overjoyed to get opening night tickets to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, which premieres on Amy's birthday. As Sheldon bought his ticket when he and Amy were broken up, he still wants to see it, despite Penny saying he should be with Amy. Sheldon has a dream/visitation where Arthur Jeffries' ghost talks with him while dressed as a Jedi master, and convinces him Amy is more important, leading him to tell Amy he'll spend the day with her as well as give up his Star Wars ticket to the rest of the men. Talking over birthday gift ideas with Penny and Bernadette, he shocks them by saying he is going to have coitus with Amy to show her how much she means to him. On Amy's birthday, Sheldon and Amy are nervous about having sex, but enjoy the experience more than they expected. Sheldon wants to do it again on her next birthday, which is fine with Amy. Arthur later appears to Sheldon again, asking for details about the sex, but Sheldon replies by discussing the movie, oblivious to Arthur's real question. Meanwhile, the rest of the men go to the movie with Wil Wheaton, who arrives dressed as Spock in a Star Trek uniform to spite the viewers. After the movie, the men lie back in the afterglow, much like Sheldon and Amy did.
