Due to remastering shows, closed captioning has been different, like from uppercase to lowercase, or lowercase to uppercase.
Full House aired on N@N it was in uppercase letters, but it short and abridged, it has been like this since 2003 and still currently uses it though! Same thing TVLand aired for a very short time in mid 2000s. The DVD version uses capital letter captions but it's verbatim. ABCFamily also used same edit as N@N and same uppercase letters, but ABCFamily then uses more commercial breaks. When Hallmark aired, and due to remastering, it has lowercase closed captioning. When Nick@Nite aired George Lopez first time, it was in uppercase letters (first then was in SD, then later converted to HD in early 2010s) And when TVLand aired in 2016 closed captioning is now in lowercase due to remastering, then later Nick@Nite back in Aug or Sept 2016 follows suit and used lowercase closed captioning. Brady Bunch aired on N@N and TVLand in past before 2010, closed captioning is uppercase, then when Viacom lost rights or expired in 2010, then later when INSP aired Brady Bunch (with new edits) closed captioning is lowercase letters. Same when N@N brought back Brady Bunch for short time back in May 2012, of course it use lowercase letters, and same thing INSP done. So if any changes, list the shows.. I would post it later on if I can think of it. |

I haven't seen how the captions are on all the classic channels, but I like how they're displayed on Antenna TV the best over others i've seen. On that channel all the letters are uppercase, and I can also adjust them by color through my TV setting.
I personally find Magenta captions to be easiest on the eyes and clear to see so I always leave it on that color. I switch over to Buzzr channel in the evenings and those captions are always bright white with lower case letters that can't be adjusted through my TV. I love the channel, but hate the captions there. I wish I could change the color on that channel as bright white is too hard on my middle aged eyes. Cozi and Decades channels I can change the color on but it's all lower case letters, except at the start of sentences or names. But as long as I can change the color of the captions, I can deal with that. Buzzr is the only channel that won't let me change colors.
