OT, but when am I ever on topic? I was lying in bed this last winter and I SWORE I heard the Hum. I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from and it was legit driving me nuts... Then I figured out it was a person who lived down the street, leaving his pickup truck running from something like 11pm-4am...

That noise was super annoying, but I got a chuckle thinking about that dude’s gas bill.

Whenever I watch that segment, and they play the example of what it sounds like, all I can think of is the very beginning of "Don't Stand So Close to Me," by the Police. It starts with that exact (or damn close to exact) note as a hum exactly like that one.

The last few days I have been hearing a blasted hum again!!

It goes up and down in volume.. There is no way to escape it!!

I was out walking last night and i could hear it but not like I do in my house!!!

What the hell is it????

The first time I heard it years ago it was close to 30hz and it was driving me insane!!! (No one else in my family heard it)

That one seemed to dissapear if I left my house thank goodness...

This one now is higher pitched but im not sure what freq it is...
