The Mole
In 2000 ABC launched one of the most interesting and unique concepts for a reality show. If you like detective and mystery shows and crime dramas The Mole was the reality show for you. Hosted by Anderson Cooper of CNN The Mole centered on 10 contestants trying to earn a cash prize by doing challenges to earn money for their cash pot but one of the contestants has a hidden secret that will force a contestant out of the game being simply known as The Mole. Every few days the contestants had to take a quiz to find out who The Mole was and the player with the lowest quiz score was executed. The first winner of The Mole's first season was a guy named Steven Cowles and the first female winner of The Mole's second season was a woman named Dorothy Hui. Despite a ratings hit by ABC and a second season and many seasons of Celebrity Mole hosted by Ahmad Rashad ABC cancelled The Mole but reruns were seen on GSN for a short while. While it was a unique reality show The Mole was destined to be the start of mystery themed reality shows
