Default Was this a case on UM?

I recall a case that would’ve been a lost love segment. It was the typical siblings being separated & looking for one another. They were all reunited but didn’t want the reunion to be shown due to their horrible past. Was this a UM segment? Any back story to it?

Aleatha Evertz was looking for, and found her three siblings; Richard, Noreen and Marty.

Because their childhood memories were so painful, Aleatha asked that cameras not be present for their reunion, but wished to thank the viewers for helping to make her lifelong dream come true.

I guess I can see why she made that request. Aleatha really got screwed over by her parents, was separated from her siblings and ended up living in abusive foster homes. She really deserved the happy ending she got.

lol.. You all astound me. From that little bit of information to remember that particular case. You all overload on Ginko Biloba or something to have a memory like that?

I will say that I recall that there was, indeed a case where they didn't want to reunion filmed, but that's the most I would have remembered.

How someone can say "The case with the red truck" and you all can come back with "Oh, that's the Dub Wackerhagen case"..

You don't forget a show that scared you so much as a kid that it gave you nightmares and some sleepless nights yet you were so hooked you continued to watch it anyway. Even many of the non-frightening segments tend to stick with you over the years.

When the show came on I was an adult (a few years out of college) and had to tape it at night and watch during the day as it was too scary! Eventually I got used to watching in the evening and the whole family was hooked!

It goes without saying that the UM crew was respectful and professional on the matter. When they filmed reunions, they obviously did so with the consent of the participants. On-camera reunions undoubtedly helped in the healing process for many, but there was the possibility that they would have the opposite effect for some. Aleatha Evertz had such a distressing life growing up that it was understandable that she did not wish to have the reunion with her siblings filmed for national television, as it would probably have reopened old wounds. Needless to say, the UM crew respected her wishes.
