Madderest I'm angry about life...again!

I got a call from my dad saying "don't go to your church that you work at if you feel obligated in going there once a month since you work there".

He also said "stop posting about how the Cleveland Indians suck"

He then insisted I "stay the night at his place since you'll be over for two days and we need your help"! He also fell last month and probably injured his arm so...

I give up...it seems like everyone else' **** is more important than than my ****! I might as well quit my job and move back home because that's what he wants...and if he says "what's your decision"...I'll tell him "I'll move-back home by the end of June"!

He wins!

Maybe you should consider talking to a therapist. I go every two weeks and it helps me a lot. No shame in seeking mental help.

I think you should try and keep your independence by remaining at your job for the moment and possibly looking round for a new one. As for your dad it sounds like emotional blackmail. Tell him you will be round to help him as often as you can.

Try not to be nervous about your appointment, and hopefully everything will turn out okay.

It happened again...my brother insists I come over to his house every other weekend to take care of my dad...his **** is more important than my ****!

I Give Up...I'll just move-back home since he's more dependent than I can ever be...I'm in a ****in' mess...I may even cancel my summer plans so I can support him!

To me that doesn’t sound like such a bad thing. What were you accomplishing living alone, anyway? It sounds like you never had a girlfriend, anyhow. If my Dad said move back home I’d take him up on it. At least you won’t feel so lonely.

Hopes and dreams are good to have, but it sounds like you weren’t working towards making anything happen for yourself, anyway. Go home and help your Dad out.

I'm close to saying that since he and my brother insist I stay the weekend...and **** Rick Warren...I have NO Purpose in Life!

Every other weekend doesn't sound too bad. Remember your dad won't be around forever, so how about trying to make the best of things?

It's hard to be with him...he's codependent...

I'll be talking to my counselor this week...I may see a psychologist. If he's to stubborn to seek help...looks like I have to...

In all honesty, you don’t sound so independent yourself. I mean if you were going places, I could see how you might think of your dad as holding you back, but if you had that type of personality you probably would have left home at 18, moved to a different city, etc. Your Dad is not holding you back. In all likelihood, you’re probably creating your own problems, and they’re not as difficult to solve as you think. Since you say you’re about to collect social security disability, that means you can’t work. You’ve got a lot of years ahead of you with a lot of time on your hands. Might as well take care of your Dad.

I can work...I need disability so I can live on my own...it's also that now I'll need that more than ever since my hours have been cut-back...and I'll get the "I Told You So" bull**** from my dad...I'll just say to him..."You Win"...and move-back home!

Just make everyone happy but myself!...
