And we were briefly operating without one of our main weapons: the ability to do crazy afterlife stuff. We decided that if we were going to be on Earth for even a few episodes, we had to run a parallel story in the afterlife — Michael/Janet intervening, the Judge finding out, Shawn getting involved, etc. — so it still felt like the same show. We also decided to have them find out the whole story by the end of episode four, so they could catch up to the audience before too long." |
