Default Who do you think the Zodiac killer was? And what

I watched the Zodiac movie with Mark Ruffalo recently and I thought it was an excellent movie. My question is who do you guys think the Zodiac killer was in real life? Do you think the movie got it right? Or do you have a different opinion? I would love know your guys thoughts and opinions on who you think the Zodiac killer was and what you thought about the movie and how it was portrayed if you watched it.

My best guess - as it usually turns out in most serial killer cases - is some one
off the radar, or came up briefly as a person authorities looked at one time.

Conversely you can make argument for most of most popular suspects,
obviously with exception of Ted Cruz...enough said

No.. There's one unique thing that sets whoever the Zodiac is(or was) apart.. And that's the ciphers he sent out. 3 out of the 4 have not been cracked yet. Now.. One of two things there.. Either he screwed up and miscalculated and 3 of the 4 are accidentally unsolvable due to that, and he's not as smart as I think.

But.. My opinion is they're legit ciphers and this guy was pretty damn smart.

IMHO, it was a great movie, many great actors doing superb jobs in their respective roles. I also know that in the 10 or so years since I saw it, I have never been able to hear that song that starts the movie without getting chills.

The daylight attack at Berryessa Lake scene, was the most genuinely scared I have ever been in a movie cinema

Someone not on the radar.

It's kind of a pointless question.

A better question is what kind of person was the Zodiac? In all probability, a sexually frustrated, woman fearing male in his thirties with a military background, highly intelligent but with feelings of inferiority and a need to prove himself.

The movie was enjoyable. I saw it in the theater when it came out. The Lake Berryessa scene was shocking.

David Fincher really knows how to shoot crime dramas. Fantastic film all around and every time I watch the final scene where the actor portraying Mike Mageau says, “The last time I saw that face was July 4th, 1969. I am very sure that’s the man who shot me.” right as “Hurdy Gurdy Man” kicks in and the credits pop... man. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Every. Single. Time.

What do you think of Thomas Henry Horan’s theory about Zodiac being a hoax?

Have any of you ever heard the theory that Zodiac might be Bruce Davis from the Manson family? I really don't think so! I don't get the connection with him being the Zodiac killer !

I'm not sure if I believe his theory in total, but I have heard other theories on the Zodiac being multiple people or an original and a copycat and I find that intriguing.

The Zodiac either evolved quite a bit or a new person committed some of the later attacks and changed the method.

In one of the podcasts I was listening to about Zodiac, they said that as far as killers go, this wasn't even that big. (Any murder is horrible, mind you, but the point was compared to the OSN/EAR and others, Zodiac was relatively small in number.) Zodiac got so much attention because of the letters and they cyphers, which were so bizarre.

As far as the unsolvable cyphers, I'm not convinced they are the work of a genius or contain anything meaningful. As no one has been able to solve them, they could just be symbols with no real meaning but the Zodiac got off by taunting everyone that the answer was right there in front of them. If he was so smart, why would he give away his identity and risk being caught? I think that whole thing was just a big, fat tease.

I agree with the others who said Zodiac is probably someone unknown to law enforcement who hasn't been identified yet. Some of the suspects were good, but all of them can be eliminated to some extent. I do think it's possible that it was more than one person, though, and that would explain a lot.

I think Zodiac was Robert Ivan Nichols. When the letters ROBERTINICHOLS are substituted for the last line in the Z340 message, the word REVENGE appears in the text. Nichols was living under a stolen ID at the time of his death, and for many years prior to that, acted very strange according to co-workers, built his own machine gun, and fits the profile of Zodiac, having served in the military and having been an engineer.

I don’t have a clue who did it. One suspect really startled me - RICHARD GAIKOWSKI! He’s from South Dakota and went to the local area college.

I did listen to the Art Bell show (years ago) on the Zodiac Killer and Gaikowski was mentioned by the guest. I don’t know too much of the Zodiac Killer case other that has been on UM and other shows.

I doubt that he is zodiac however.

Does anybody think that Arthur Leigh Allen was the Zodiac killer? Like the move implied.
