Why is Nicki Minaj very popular in rap music today?

Ever since she debuted with the single Your Love from her album Pink Friday I have noticed that Nicki Minaj is becoming very popular today and I want to know why it is? Is it because Nicki Minaj hopes that she will replace female rap artists such as Queen Lafifah MC Lyte and Angie Martinez? Or is it because Nicki has her own unique style of rap music that sets her apart from other rap artists? Because when her debut album Pink Friday came out Nicki Minaj was destined to be huge and released hit after hit. But it wasn't until Nicki Minaj released her second album Pink Friday Roman's Revenge that she became a huge superstar and she had focused on other projects such as releasing a perfume line and a deal with Kmart to sell a juniors and women's clothing line as well as a jewelry line and handbag line and when the deal was sealed Kmart made tons of commercials featuring Nicki Minaj promoting her new line. But it wasn't until Nicki Minaj's third album The Pinkprint came out that I noticed her everywhere. And since her last album Queen came out last year I think Nicki Minaj will continue to make a name for herself in rap music in the years ahead
