Default Not as good as you thought

did you ever see a show that you hadn't seen in years; and back when you last saw it you really liked it but upon seeing it again you maybe think something like "I used to like this?"
For me, I used to LOVE "THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO" when it was on in the early 80s on ABC. A couple weeks ago Decades showed it on their Weekend Binge; I watched it because I hadn't seen it since it originally aired and it wasn't as good as I thought.

Unfortunately most shows I watched as a kid.

WKRP. I watched all of it last year and I kept thinking it was going to get good, but it never did. I watched it in reruns in the 80s and 90s and thought it was funny back then, but it's overrated. It has it's funny moments, but it's basically pretty bland.

True that. Many of the cartoons I love as a kid are completely unwatchable to me now.

I also grew up without cable, so we watched what we could pull in on 3-4 channels. I loved being at a friend's house so I could watch stuff like Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, etc.....also stuff I just can't watch anymore.

Stuff I didn't miss as a kid like Mork & Mindy, Happy Days, Three's Company - just all too formulaic. You know what is going to happen 3 minutes in to the show (same with stuff like Gilligan's Island).

Don't get me wrong - I have a list of stuff that I still enjoy much - but that's a list for another thread.

Mork & Mindy, I used to think it was so funny, now I can only stand to watch it a couple of times a year.

Saved By The Bell. I used to watch the TBS reruns a lot when younger, but watching it now just isn’t the same.

There are many shows that I feel this way about. Full House is one of them. I still like the original but some of the episodes that never bothered me before bother me now in terms of how unfunny they are. Seinfeld is another show that I "grew out of", you could say. I just don't find it funny anymore and that makes me kind of sad.

Most cartoons I can't get into either. I've been DVR'ing Bewitched and there are a lot of episodes that I don't really like. I was floored when I realized the show lasted seven years! It's a good show, don't get me wrong, but does anyone else notice that they tend to repeat the same situation a lot? Endora is always turning Darrin into something or another. I think the first three seasons of that show were the best. I used to not like Dick York that much but I think he was the better Darrin.

I will think of other shows and post again later.
