As many of you readers know, in late 2017, The Walt Disney Company announced a new Streaming Service now known as Disney+. That being said, Disney+ is OFFICIALLY coming to an Internet Computer near you on November 12, costing ONLY $6.99 a month for Subscribers. Confirmed as coming to Disney+ upon its November 12 launch include, but not limited to, the following: 1. The Simpsons -- Created by Matt Groening, "The Simpsons" began life as a series of Animated Sketches on the '80s FOX Variety Series "The Tracey Ullman Show" in 1987. 2 years later, "The Simpsons" began its 30+ years on FOX. 2. Lady and the Tramp -- This remake of Disney's full-length Theatrical Cartoon was filmed entirely on location in Savannah, Georgia and is set to be issued as a Disney+ Original upon its November 12 launch. 3. Boy Meets World -- Though already on Hulu, the Complete Series Library of the hit '90s Disney sitcom "Boy Meets World" will also be on Disney+. Disney+ will also be home to "Malcolm in the Middle" (part of the Studio's 20th Century Fox Television acquisition) and its library of Theatrical Films. Though not confirmed as of this writing, my own Personal Hopes for Disney+ is that the Service will include EVERY Disney TV show ever made, from classic Disney sitcoms like "Home Improvement" and "Dinosaurs" to HBO's "Hello Ladies" (a joint production between HBO and Disney's ABC Studios). I also hope that Disney+ includes Network TV's Longest-Running Prime-Time Game Show ("America's Funniest Home Videos") as part of its Service. |

Agreed on hopes that it includes every Disney show. And, a reminder that Disney has extended episodes of a lot of their shows. Normally they are shown once and shelved. Here's hoping they resurrect them for Disney+.

According to this article, The service won’t include any advertisements. So, I'm surprised. |

I'm holding out for the Mickey Mouse Club - 1950s version.

I was concerned the subscription fee would be kind of expensive, so I'm pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it is. I'll definitely be subscribing to it now.

Disney+ is the digital equivalent of Disneyland
"Much like Walt Disney’s first theme park, it will serve as the gateway service to the full collection of the Mouse House’s streaming collection," says Josef Adalian. He adds that a package combining Hulu with Disney+ could be the equivalent of Disney World. Disney+'s $6.99 monthly cost is a "savvy" move that could really hurt Apple TV+ Disney+ isn't a Netflix killer, but it may be an Apple TV+ killer, says Tim Goodman. The "leg-buckling" price tag of $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year may have Apple TV+ rethink its yet-to-be-revealed pricing strategy. While Disney+ is offering an overwhelming amount of content for $6.99, it will be hard for Apple to ask for more money for 18 shows you've never heard of, says Goodman. "Disney knew all along it had something that Apple never had, and what no amount of celebrities or wonderfully directed black-and-white videos filled with platitudes about storytelling could compete with: a sh*t ton of content," says Goodman. "By comparison, all the content. Apple's Achilles heel has been the fact that it never bought a studio or production company and never inherited a deep bench to populate its new service." He adds: "What is Apple going to do now — offer up its TV subscription for $5.99? At least one analyst suggested last month that Apple could get $15 a month for its service, unbundled, but that is the most Kool Aid-view of Apple customer loyalty ever pondered, especially now when one of the world's biggest media companies just essentially said, 'Here's an endless supply of great things you love and want for nearly half of what you're paying for the most popular plan at Netflix.'" What will now air on the Disney linear channels that's different from the streaming service? All this new exclusive content for Disney+ would be suited to go on the linear channels? Will Disney Channel, National Geographic etc now get the leftovers? I don't see how it will work?

But, I do also wonder how it will work though (at the price point and commercial free), but I'd hope to be pleasantly surprised. The $6.99/mo pricing is a lot less than (commercial free) Hulu Plus or the commercial free CBS All Access. Presumably, all seasons of The Simpsons be in this service too. FXX On Demand has it but it's not commercial free. |

When it has come down to it Disney has always wanted to experiment with new ideas to get more people interested in new ways of watching TV shows. With the new Disney+ service I think they will have heavy competition with Hulu and Crackle and Apple TV and with this new service I think Disney will play it smart and combine ABC and Disney Channel and ESPN together into one service and they will also have the theme park channels like the channels you get at the Disney resort hotels. But if it is successful Disney+ will do very well. Some of the programming that Disney+ might carry may include in my mind are
1. The Bachelor/The Bachelorette 2. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Regis Philbin version 3. Alias 4. Ugly Betty 5. Castle 6. America's Funniest Home Videos 7. Family Matters 8. Growing Pains 9. Thunder Alley 10. Thirtysomething But if Disney is successful at this new service I bet it will gain Disney more people to watch TV and who knows what else will be in store for Disney+ Bestie |

Maybe it will include Golden Girls and Empty Nest since I think those are Disney shows. I also hope it includes Song of the South.
