Eek Stamps Are Now 55 Cents Each!

Wow, I didn't know until today, but the price of stamps went up from 49 cents to 55 cents. A book of stamps now costs $11. That's a big increase.

They actually went up from 50cents to 55.

Thankfully the only time I buy a lot of stamps are at Christmas to mail out cards. I do buy about 12 or so a year to mail in a few payments that can’t be made online.

The same thing happened to me when I bought a St. Patrick's Day card for my Irish friend who loves to celebrate the occasion. I was so surprised the price of stamps had jumped up that much!

I have heard that the U S Post Office is about done for. I didn't send Christmas cards last Christmas because of the price of stamps. I guess I won't be sending any next Christmas either.

Book of Stamps seems to be expensive these days but the price of one stamp is cheap.

I'm old fashioned ! No matter how much stamps go up I'm still gonna send Christmas cards, and Easter, Thanksgiving , Birthday cards ! We also write checks and mail in our bills, we're wary of having our information on line!

I was raised with a mama who always sent out Christmas cards so I will always carry on that tradition.

Same with me!! With Christmas and every holiday and Birthdays! My Sister and I both do this , my Mom taught us this ! She has passed away, but my relatives really appreciate that we are keeping up the tradition of sending out cards to them!!

Oh No

I just get stamps so I can can give my landlady the rent money...but if I don't get SSDI this month and I use my Tax Money for the rant in May...then I'm movin' back with my dad...which is a different topic altogether!

But I went somewhere to get stamps and I got angry because they went-up in price! Why the **** does everything have to pay an arm and a leg anymore?

It's crazy how expensive stamps have gotten but I still like mailing bills and letters. I should start paying them online but eventually I'm sure I will get around to doing that. For now it's just easier to pay the old fashioned way. What can I say, I'm old-school.

The USPS is trash, but still cheaper than their rivals.

My dad stopped sending out a lot of Christmas cards a few years ago because nobody was sending them out anymore. In recent years, he's only sent out a few and that's it.

Same here, I don't like paying my bills online either, it just seems too risky with all the hackers out there trying to steal your info. I'll keep buying stamps even if they go over a dollar a piece.
