Default Why is Shriners Hospital advertising so many commercials on TV?

Nearly every time I watch TV I noticed that Shriners Hospital has so many commercials on TV and I would like to know why this is? Is it because Shriners Hospital has now replaced Easter Seals and March Of Dimes as a popular charity now? Because each time I see Nick At Nite I have seen Shriners Hospital commercials that seem to get lots of airplay and get very annoying after the first few times and so it tells me Shriners Hospital hopes to make a huge name for themselves this year with these commercials

They must need the money?

They need more money to put on more commercials.

I feel sorry for the little boy with the high pitched voice, but it grates on you after so many times. But the Shriners ad isn't nearly as annoying as those phony (IMO) animal cruelty ads.

I liked Alex and now a younger boy is doing the narration. I do wonder when I see the commercials after half dozen years now, the chidden must be getting older. Also somewhat looks that the children live there. The way the scenes are placed 10 children tell their story. Once you start giving money, your mailbox get more letters for more donations. I do find the children cute and they do, as Kitty Carlyle would say, a marvelous job in the commercials.

Yep, Alex was pretty good. He's just probably getting too old. For some reason the Shriners ads aren't annoying (IMO), like St. Judes and all the animal stuff.

I have noticed a new Shriners Hospital commercial that starts with "Hi I'm Caleb and this is my story" and it seems that Caleb is one of the popular Shriners kids to be featured in the commercials. But it seems that they might be getting a new bunch of Shriners kids since the previous kids are now older and grown up. But I can't still figure out why these commercials are still popular and overplayed

These ads are all over the place now. Some of them show pics of Caleb as close to newborn and it's amazing he's come as far as he has.

A newer ad has Alex monitoring a roundtable discussion, and Caleb pipes in with how he appreciates the hospital. Alex is bowled over by his response.

There are so many ads pleading for money, you have to think they're successful. To me any charity which wants your credit card number for never-ending contributions is suspicious. You don't see well-known, established charities doing this schlock stuff.

I'll take Shriners over the Liberty Mutual. The Liberty Mutual I simply can not stand.

Agreed! All those LM ads are stupid. The emu and the dunce who can't remember his lines.

As I put on another thread, though, the WORST is that Allstate ad with the lady driving with the guy who is supposedly a dog and she says he eats, well, it's dinnertime so I'll refrain. I will NEVER buy Allstate.

Hi, Bestie! It is like a contest between Shriners and St Jude to get money. It does not matter though who gets the money. It is all a good cause. I liked the Shriners commercials with Alex. But they had get the new kid, because even though Alex looks the same, his voice changed and he sounds like Danny DeVito. I think they should still use him anyway. He has charisma. The new kid sounds like a ruber ducky. What do you think?

Both kids were cute the first 100 times I saw them. Now I can't stand either of them. I turn the channel when their commercials comes on. They went to the well too much.

Do you mean the one with the struggling actor who can't remember his lines?

My favorite Shriners ad was the Braelynn centered one where she was the main spokesgirl. But they don't air that ad much anymore.

I think the ads are cute, actually and I love the kids. Honestly I'd rather see ads like that than the ones for stuff like life insurance for 9.95 from Colonial Penn. I have those commercials memorized b/c H&I show them constantly. I like Alex Trebeck but I wish they would come up with different ones.
