Then why does it say that it was founded in 1895 on the sign?

I'm sure the writers wanted to do a Centennial Cheers episode and since they figured the show wouldn't last till 1995, they made the story that Sam simply made up that date when putting up the sign.

I thought it was when Carla was into numerology. I remember hearing that on the episode where they celebrated their 100th anniversary and Lilith went into labor. Maybe I'm wrong.

yeah it was in "The Stork Brings a Crane" (where Lilith has Frederick). it was Cheers Centennial(and it was 1989) and one of the regulars ask "Then why does the sign say 1895?" or somethin and Sam says "oh i made that up." Rebecca gets mad and Sam explains that Carla was into that "number stuff" (yeah, numerology), and that 1889 was a bad #, but 1895 was a good one. if i can, ill get a clip

Lightbulb remaining answers

Woody, Norm and Cliff rented The magnificent ambersons, thinking it was a sequal.

And Lilith and Frasier I believe met on a blind date in Season Four. In an episode titled, second time around.

Oh and by the way, a guy named Kirby bought sam's corvette in the episode, The little match girl so sam could get some cash to fix the bar after the fire
