Default Who's your favorite relative of Mrs. Garrett's?

We've seen several of Mrs. Garrett's family over the years. Who's your favorite relative of hers?

Ooh, good question!

NOT Alex. He's so self-centered in the only episode in which he's seen.

NOT Mr. Garrett. Same.

Not Beverly Ann, although I don't dislike her.

Not Bruce Gaines, who took our Mrs. G away.

So I'll say Raymond, who really showed how much he loved his mom, with the big restaurant gesture.

I can't think of any other relatives off the top of my head.

You like to be hard on some characters, lol. Don't forget that Alex was glad to see his mother want him to grow up, and he had changes happening in his life, so it was a good ending.

Oh yeah, I didn't count Bruce because he wasn't already a relative of hers. He just suddenly married her in the season 8 premiere and then the "Gaines-Garretts" were gone.

Of course you can't. I listed them all. (I wouldn't post an incomplete poll )

Hmmm I agree with your reasoning for Mr G and Alex, but Raymond, while generous giving her a shop, wasn’t the best husband to his wife. Sure she was a nag but he was also real stubborn. I’m gonna say Beverly Ann, she’s endearing and she even adopted Andy

I didn't forget the ending, but I hated to see Mrs. Garrett used like that. The apple didn't fall far from the tree, with that boy....

Bruce was related to Mrs. G in the same way that Robert was: they were married. In fact, since Robert is legally her ex, I think the argument could be made that Bruce counts as more of a relative than an ex-relative.

They both had their flaws, but when the chips were down, Raymond proved how much he loved his mom.

Not a horrible choice. At least you didn't choose Robert or Alex!

Yes it did. He learned lessons his father didn't.

Mr. Garrett was the father of Mrs. Garrett's children, so that keeps him as a part of her life. Their DNA had been inside each other for years in "various ways". We don't even know if Mrs. Garrett ever went to bed with Bruce before they got married, lol.

Well Alex was a lot better than his father, but even Mr. Garrett was charming.

That's why you're in the middle of the Big Bird Bedtime Stories bed.

Ew. His DNA wasn't inside her two decades later!

But surely afterwards, right?

But it wasn't thanks to her, he had already changed his lifestyle but just didn't know how to tell her. When she tells him she's cutting him off, he says, "Thank God". I like that.

I'm kind of sad that some fans are so nonplussed by so many of the relatives on the show. I enjoy seeing most of them as peripheral characters, and it warms my "Facts"-lovin' heart when the girls and Mrs. Garrett are always so happy to see them. As a little boy, those were always joyful family-visit moments on the show.

Aww sorry Eights. It just seems a lot of the family storylines are meant to create conflict for the girls. Tooties dad taking her out of school, Natalie’s dad cheating on her mom, etc.
