Default Oprah Winfrey loses $435 million

Oprah Winfrey has lost $435 million of her $3.4 billion fortune on her investment in the Weight Watchers organization, or WW as it's now called. I'm not quite sure why the name was changed in favour of an acronym which does not have instant recognition, nor why popstar Robbie Williams or Winfrey herself were employed to promote it, when neither seem to embody its endgame objective. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/comp...cid=spartanntp

Yes there's still lots left. Robbie Williams might be a better ambassador for the organization than I thought. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...ans-Milan.html

I wish I could lose $435 million and be in her position!

I always wondered WHY is she a spokesman for Weight watchers?? She's been obese for much of her life and she's still clearly overweight so obviously Weight Watchers isn't working and now their sales reflect that!

This was my view also and I have to admit there was an element of schadenfreude over it, but after the Leaving Neverland interview I can see why she's worth that kind of money. It's the best thing she's done for many a year.

Just because she did an interview?? Any dummy can do an interview. Journalists are some of the most OVERPAID people on earth. Many of them do nothing but read a teleprompter!

A junior high kid could do that!

No she controlled and directed the discussion subtly. I would tax her more were I to become your President next year, but that's another issue.

That'll never happen because big money lobbyists control taxation. Notice even when Obama was President and Democrats had control of BOTH houses of Congress they did NOT raise taxes on the rich!

If my memory serves me right Obama had a proposal to raise taxes on the rich but when he lost control of Congress the Republicans voted against.

But Democrats had FULL control of all 3 branches of government for 2 YEARS but didn't do anything to raise taxes on the rich!

See what I mean??

I think it was done by the back door, but of course the inequality grew worse as those at the bottom failed to keep up.
