Do you think Arista Records damages singers and groups careers?

When Arista Records was launched in the 70's by Clive Davis Arista Records started out as a label that was known for turning new singers into superstars and would always make singing groups really huge. But if you haven't noticed I think Arista Records seems to damage singers and musical groups careers and it causes the singer's career to go downhill and the singer's life goes into danger. Is it because Arista Records gives the singers and bands inexpensive record deals for little money? Take for instance when Arista Records started out they turned singers like Melissa Manchester and Barry Manilow into superstars and then when Dionne Warwick joined Arista Records in 1979 she became a huge star for Arista and remained there throughout the 90's. But I think in the 80's Arista Records started to go downhill when Whitney Houston joined Arista Records in 1985 and when Whitney Houston released her debut album she became Arista Records's most popular artist and I think the reason her career went downhill and caused her problems with her life was because Arista Records didn't promote her album Just Whitney enough and her last album Whitney Houston released before she died Arista didn't bother to promote it enough which goes to show that Arista has a new image with promoting singers. Taylor Dayne also suffered the same fate when she joined Arista Records in 1987 and when she released her debut album Tell It To My Heart Taylor was one of Arista's bonafide stars and her star status blossomed when Taylor Dayne released her second album Can't Fight Fate but her success went downhill when Arista overpromoted her 1993 album Soul Dancing by moving the album's release date and changing the title of the album too many times and it put Taylor under a lot of stress and she quit Arista and is still making albums for many record labels. A second group that a similar thing happened to was Expose and already Expose was one of the mega girl bands of the 80's but when they released their 1992 self-titled album with Kelly Moneymaker replacing original member Gioia Bruno Arista gave Expose's album no promotion and only released three singles from the album and caused Expose to split up. A second thing Arista Records would do was market a new female singer then try to compare them to their other female artists. Take for instance when singer Deborah Cox came out Arista marketed her as the new Whitney Houston and she released two albums for Arista and once Arista overpromoted her career and she also has done albums for other labels now. I wish the Arista Records curse would end and make them return to using the formula Arista used for making singers into superstars again

A second thing that I think caused Arista Records to go downhill was when famous producer LA Reid became CEO of Arista Records and started the LaFace Records division of R&B music with Babyface Arista was starting to change direction and become like Atlantic Records was when it first began with groups like TLC and turned Toni Braxton into a superstar by having her perform on the soundtrack to the movie Boomerang and if it wasn't for her debut album and her second album Secrets Toni Braxton wouldn't be a huge success for Arista Records. But just like Whitney Houston when Toni Braxton released her third album The Heat Arista/LaFace released it with no promotion whatsoever and released only three singles from the album and due to the poor promotion of the album it caused Toni Braxton to go broke and caused her a lot of stress and illness and after releasing the album More Than A Woman Toni left Arista Records to record albums for other labels. TLC was a top group for Arista/LaFace when they came out in 1992 releasing hit after hit from their debut album and when their second album came out in 1994 TLC became bonafide superstars but when they released Fanmail in 1999 LaFace/Arista kept moving the release date of the album and overpromoting it and it caused stress to TLC and caused them to go nearly bankrupt and I really think had Lisa Lopes had not tragically died TLC would still exist. Another thing that was wrong for Arista Records to do was when Lisa Lopes released her only solo rap album Supernova it was destined to be a hit in America but when Lisa Lopes died Supernova was shelved and released only in Europe and Australia and is the hardest album to find. But when it came to country music Arista Records was the biggest label for country artists and with stars such as Carrie Underwood and many others Arista proved itself to be the label that made country singers have strong careers and Carrie Underwood proves it releasing hit after hit on the country charts. But I hope Arista adds more successful artists and not cause stress on their careers
