Former TV actress Beverley Owen who portrayed the original Marilyn Munster on the 1960's CBS series The Munsters has sadly passed away. According to her godson Joss Whedon, Beverly Owen Stone passed away on Thursday February 21, 2019 which he posted on his Twitter account. At this time the media & press have not picked up the story as of yet. Beverley Owen was 81.

It's sad the media are ignoring it. Not even an obituary in Variety or Hollywood Reporter.

I'm just the opposite, Beverley was great in the role, but I prefer Pat Priest.

,however IMO Beverly captured the role!

To me Beverly seemed more Marilyn Monroe-ish ! I'm thinking that is what they were going for when she was casted, a girl in her likeness( Marilyn Munster/ Marilyn Monroe )with the very bleach blonde hair!

It's not being ignored, the more reliable sites such as Variety, Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter etc... can take several days to publish an obit once the news hits social media. Most of these sites won't even use social media as their primary source and will usually contact the person's family for confirmation. I know The Hollywood Reporter is one of these.

I agree, Bonniegirl. I had a crush on Beverley when I started watching the show and was always sad when she left. Pat Priest, to me, seemed kind of bland and not meaning to disrespect her, but I never found her to be attractive. Not ugly by any means, she just didn't do it for me. I found her performance to be quite dull. Whereas Beverley seemed to have more character. Just a shame she didn't want to be there.
