If you want to show something like a TV show or a song, or a photo of an actor from decades ago to someone to, say, a millennial, that person's response is: "I don't know what that TV show/song/actor is." If you're given such a response, then you start telling him or her some facts about that TV show, song, or actor, and the person gives you the same "I don't now what that is" response. And then you end up getting into a fight with that person, or give up and get angry. It's like that person doesn't want to know what that TV show, song, or actor is.
To the members of this forum: Have you ever got into fights over something like this? |

When I talk about classic TV to anyone in my generation it usually ends in awkward confusion because they've never heard of these shows before. So I don't bring it up a lot but it's never resulted in a fight. I don't blame them for not knowing. It's all about the environment you live in. I was lucky to watch these shows as far back as I can remember but I know not everyone has that background.

I didn't get in a fight over this but once I mentioned to my physical therapist (who's pretty
-but anyway) the show "BONANZA" and she had never heard of it; and she's 31! So, I said "You know...that western...the Cartwrights...the Ponderosa..." and she STILL didn't know!

I agree. Some people, regardless of age, don't really care for television, movies, music or pop culture in general. Hard to believe!
Others simply don't remember things, while the younger generation often has little exposure to these things.
