I agree. I don't like this season at all. It's like they don't even care about their children anymore. What happened?

I really thought they were nice enough to let Sondra and Elvin and the twins stay with them in Season 8...I really thought they were good in all the seasons as parents.

Yeah, they were at their meanest at this season, even though I love this season the most, they acted like their kids were sooooo stupid, and they were sooo much smarter than them, like, making fun of them!

Yeah they were kinda mean. But it was for comedy purposes. Season 8 to me is one of the funnier seasons. I like how they had the ongoing doorbell gag.

I like season 8. I do agree that Cliff and Claire's parenting skills change throughout the years. But, by season 8, their children (except Rudy) are all grown so you would expect them to change the way they treat them. I think they are still loving to all of their kids, but yes they are annoyed with them.

I mean Sondra and Elvin rely on them for a place to stay, babysitting, co-signers for their house, etc. Theo is finally on the right track, but still hangs out at their house, eating their food. Vanessa becomes engaged to a 29 year old maintenance man without telling her parents, and when they finally adjust to the idea, she leaves him(This is my favorite story-line from all the seasons. It cracks me up every time I watch!) Denise is long gone, but leaves her little step-daughter for them to raise. And Rudy is now a teenager, dealing with teenage stuff. Not to mention they now have that annoying Pam and all of her buddies to deal with.

With all that going on, its no wonder Cliff and Claire seem a little less loving and a little more sarcastic!

I think season 8 was alright, but now that I watch the show in reruns I find that I like the earlier seasons a lot better. I didn't mind the additions of Olivia and Cousin Pam, but I didn't like the fact that they stole the show, especially Olivia. Olivia was cute and all and I liked her, but they didn't have to show her as much as they did because she stole storylines from Rudy who was my favorite character. Like I said Cousin Pam didn't bother me either, but they didn't have to give her storylines that could have been giving to Vanessa. But overall, I would much rather prefer the seasons before Olivia and Cousin Pam came into the show. It's a good thing that TCS is about to start over on N@N.

Actually,,I thought Season 8 was much funnier than Seasons 6 and 7.

Cliff and Clair are older and losing their patience with their children who seem like they will never move out. Like FactsFan said,,they are just getting frustrated that their grown children are not leaving the nest and in fact more people are moving in when it should only be Cliff,Clair, and Rudy left in the house.

I agree that they showed too much Olivia and Pam instead of focusing on Rudy and Vanessa who were actually Huxtable children.

It was cute to see Cliff warm up to Dabnus in the last season...I think Cliff started to like him as soon as he found out Dabnus had his own home and would never hafta move in with him and Clair if he married Vannessa,,lol. I think Cliff was more disappointed than Vanessa when the wedding was called off.
