There always seemed to be an inherent optimism which pervaded her work with her colourful, artistic prose, even though they could touch on contentious issues, the most famous example of which being The Shell Seekers dealing with inheritance, which may have been on her mind given that her estate is worth in excess of £100million. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47159456
