So I’ve listed all references to “Thompson” did I miss any?
Mr. Thompson one of Beaver’s teachers as in Beaver’s Autobiography Mrs. Thompson mentioned by Lumpy in Teacher’s Daughter. They took Lumpy from Mrs. Thompson and gave him to Mr. Foster. In Junior Fire Chief Ward takes a call from an angry neighbor, Mr. Thompson. Ward and June go see Miss Thompson’s new baby. Eddie quits school and goes to work for Mr. Thompson at the garage. In Un-togetherness I think Wally mentions his teacher Mr. Thompson. In Wally’s Election Wally is on the phone to Walter and mentions a guy named Thompson. In Beaver’s First Date Mrs. Thompson wants Wally to chaperone. In Beaver and Kenneth Mrs. Thompson walks up to June at school and asks if her husband can play piano at a function. In Beaver’s Ring the nurse is Miss Thompson mentioned by stevea In Beaver’s Fear Wally mentions a guy named Arthur Thompson that could go but he carries a briefcase. Ward and Fred discuss the Thompson Deal. In Summer in Alaska Eddie tells Captain Drake his uncle, Richard Haskell knows Mr. Thompson who owns the fleet. In The Clubhouse Beaver talks about a neighbor, Mr. Thompson, who lives in a big house. In Beaver’s Newspaper an ad in the paper talks about boys throwing dirt in Linda Thompson and Shelley Thompson’s hair. In Lumpy Rutherford he tells Wally and Beaver to go by Thompson’s house he wouldn’t let them pass. In Beaver Gets ‘spelled Beaver says Larry Mondello pushed me and I spilled Mr. Thompson’s cocoa. In Kite Day Beaver asks June about rain dances. He asks June if Mrs. Thompson at dancing school can do a rain dance. In Goodbye Beaver Ward and June are discussing houses and realtors and Ward mentions Thompson-Baker. |

Besides coach Grover there was a coach named Thompson early on, I think.
Also early on I think June mentioned some Thompsons that lived near "the park" (later, it would probably have been Metzger's Field). |

Coach Grover, Henderson, Driscoll, Doyle and Ingersol. Maybe Wally mentions a Coach Thompson.

And there's a mention of the "Thompson deal," one of Ward's work assignments.

Wow these Thompson names are adding up. I think it’s used more than any other name. Lately I’ve heard Mr. Grant, Mr. Farnsworth, Mr. Bromley, Mr. Newton, Mrs. Bruce, Mr. Peabody, Mr. Proudy so why use Thompson all the time.

Thompson and Henderson seem to be the winners.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman was a great cartoon from Rocky and Bullwinkle. Way ahead of its time. Loved Boris and Natasha.
Larry mentions Mr. Peabody in Beaver Makes a Loan when Beaver is going to punch him out. |

I liked Dudley Do-Right, with Snidely Whiplash and Nell (tied to a railroad track, of course.)
Bullwinkle: Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat. (Out comes some other ferocious animal). Ooh. Don't know my own strength. |

Bullwinkle Moose was classic. (Moose and Squirrel) That was William Conrad as narrator. They can never duplicate those early animators who gave us Tom Terrific, Felix, Pixie and Dixie, Snagglepuss, Yogi, Huckleberry Hound etc.

I knew June Foray voiced Rocky (and tons of other animated characters) but I never knew Conrad was the narrator.
The H-B, Jay Ward, and Warners cartoons were classic. The Ward animation was a little subpar, but the writing more than made up for it. |
