I Love Lucy episode: Lucy & The Dummy UNCUT - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I amjust curious if anyone has this. It's the I Love Lucy episode that has a built-in movie trailer for the Frank Sinatra movie Guys & Dolls. (Yes, I am serious.) Due to rights issues, this is the only episode on the I Love Lucy DVD Box Sets that is not uncut but as close to uncut as possible. Here's the description from tv.com:

"This episode when first aired ran 3 minutes short because it was edited to fit the time slot. Also during the episode the audience got to see a clip from the movie "Guys and Dolls."

That evening, the audience saw a clip from Sam Goldwyn's upcoming film version of "Guys and Dolls"- Frank Sinatra's "Adelaide" number, just before Lucy was introduced dancing with "Raggedy Ricky". "Adelaide" was then deleted from all reissue prints of this episode."

Were Lucy or Desi involved in this movie? Did Desilu produce it or something? Or maybe CBS was involved with it in some way? It seems strange for the times to run a movie trailer during the actual episode.

In the storyline, Ricky just finished a movie for MGM. At the end of the film, MGM wanted Ricky to appear in a talent show but he has plans to go fishing. Lucy decides to appear with “Ricky” (a dummy) so Lucy can become famous.

For obvious reasons, no TV series would have a built in movie trailer today.
