A Honeymooners MLK Day skit:

[Frank Gannucci]

(Ralph and Ed are in the pool room.)

Ed: "Ralph, how long has this poolroom been around?"

Ralph: "It has to be literally a century. This poolroom was around during the times when blacks and whites were segregated. I don't think this poolroom had a sign that said 'Only whites belong here.'"

Ed: "Good thing that they didn't. It's a good thing that Martin Luther King helped put an end to that."

Ralph: "Yeah good thing for Dr. King. He was a real king. I would have hated if my bus company had buses that had a sign that said 'Only blacks allowed' and 'Only whites allowed."

Ed: "People talk about the good old days but they forget how lucky were are in the present day that we don't have to deal with that anymore."

Ralph: "If it wasn't for Dr. King, we would be worse off. I still think that it was a shame that he never was a US President. He would make history long before Barack Obama did by becoming the first black president."

Ed: "I said this a million times. Dr. King was a sweet kid. I would love to have him over so he can watch Captain Video with me."

(Ralph rolls his eyes.)

Ralph: "Or how about us being responsible for him becoming a member of the Raccoon Lodge."

Ed: "That would be great. He would love being around all of us."

Ralph: "I sure miss seeing him on TV. He had a dream and that dream came true."

Ed: "Dreams do come true Ralph-ie boy. I dreamed of getting a job in the sewer and that is what I got."

(Ralph shakes his head in disgust.)

Ralph: "But we can all agree that dreams can come true."

(They both sing a song about dreams coming true.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"

(Crowd cheers.)
