Default Chuckie’s Shoes

How does June know that Beaver had called Wally and was alright? After Wally talks to Beaver on the phone he’s seen talking to Ward just about to tell him what happened when Chuckie’s mother comes in and starts crying about Beaver. June just happened to walk in.

Also they cut out the first scene when J&W are planning to visit Miss Thompson and new baby.

I noticed they cut that scene. I think they opened with the boys coming downstairs and Eddie knocking.

Re June knowing Beaver was OK--there's another instance where "somebody knows too much". When Beaver goes to Langley's office to confront him about the golf cheating, Beaver comes in and talks to the secretary. She get on the intercom and tells Langley that it's something about caddying for him, when Beaver had not said anything about that.

Re that scene with Chuckie's mother: if I were the director, I would have cut that, and told Marjorie Reynolds to cool the emoting. She was overacting to the max. Either that or he could have made an executive decision and altered some of the corny dialog. All part of a subpar episode, I guess!

I agree about Marjorie over acting. Hey saw a very young Marjorie Reynolds in Holiday Inn and she still couldn’t act but boy she was pretty.

They cut some of the beginning out of the Uncle Billy episode today, too.

I thought it was funny when Ward picked up the phone in the beginning and said “this is Ward Cleaver.” Like Billy asked if this was Ward.

Wouldn’t Uncle Billy know it was a man’s voice and say “Is this my favorite nephew? This is Billy Cleaver!” Or this is Uncle Billy.

I think it's funny when they alter the dialog to hide from the viewer who is calling. Ward: Hi! How are you, (no name)? Of course he really would have said, Hi, how are you, Uncle Billy?

This brings up something that bugs me in other shows. Such as in Father Knows Best, in the second Christmas episode, Jim addresses the visitor as "Aunt Neeva." She's his sister! Who calls his sister, Aunt? Dennis the Menace, in the last episode, John Wilson's Aunt Emma comes to visit. Dennis calls her Aunt. Not his Aunt. And in Brady Bunch, Aunt Jenny comes to visit...everybody calls her Aunt, including Alice. I think she's Carol's Aunt.

It bugged me growing up if a kid from the same family approached their sibling and stated that "my dad wants you". What the heck, is it the dad to both of them? It should be "dad wants you".

That is weird. Dennis should call her Mrs. Wilson or by her surname. I only had one aunt so she was just Auntie. Maybe Jim Anderson called her Aunt Neeva cuz she was the kids’ aunt instead of Sis. I never called my sister Sis.
