Have you ever wondered where your favourite series took place? Have you ever watched an episode and noticed something familiar about the set? I first noticed this when seeing "Desperate Housewives" where the entire neighborhood of Wisteria Lane was like walking into a Classic TV history book. Yesterday, while watching episodes of "Bewitched", "I Dream Of Jeannie", and "The Partridge Family" on TV (and loving it!) I literally saw Wisteria Lane unfold before my eyes since all 4 of those great series were shot at the same location. This morning I was reading an excellent website called RetroWeb which has an outstanding page that goes into great detail about Hollywood's legendary movie studios - including Columbia, MGM, and Paramount - and the locations they used to film classic movies and TV series. These include Desilu, bought by Lucy and Desi to film "I Love Lucy" and sold to Paramount in 1967, as well as Columbia, which named their TV branch Screen Gems and produced many series that were all filmed on Wisteria Lane. The stories behind all the studios and sets plus a detailed list of all the shows that were filmed on those sets and memories from people who visited them can be found here. I hope you enjoy your 3 hour tour!
