Default Idea for nick at nite

I feel the Programming should be similar to Netflix.

1st Quarter they offer Sitcoms from 2000’s & 90’s.
2nd Quarter they offer Sitcoms from 80’s
3rd Quarter is Sitcoms from the 70’s.
4th Quarter Sitcoms from the 50’s & 60’s.

Every quarter they get shows from that era and you binge watch.

Example 4th Quarter
Monday’s I Love Lucy 9pm-5AM.
Tuesday’s Leave It To Beaver 9pm-5AM.
Wednesday’s Donna Reed Show 9pm-5AM.

Than the next 4th Quarter they may
Monday’s My Three Sons 9pm-5AM
Tuesday’s I Love Lucy 9pm-5AM. (On a New NITE)
Wednesday’s Dennis the Menace 9pm-5AM.

Example 1st Quarter
Monday’s Modern Family
Tuesday’s Home Improvement
Wednesday’s the middle.

This will give something to everyone. In addition it will keep nick at nite Fresh instead of keeping the same schedule year after year.

New tag line..nick at nite the place where you can always binge about something tonite.
Promos.. pop culture from that era in jingles

Just a Suggestion

I like these suggestions. I would probably watch it again if it was like this. Only thing is, I would start showing them at 7 instead of 9.

Didn't TV Land do something like this years ago (when they were good)? It was something like Block Party Summer.

I for one personally think that N@N is not going back to classic shows since it is 2019 and now focusing more modern shows 2000s, and little 90s.

I think N@N needs to acquire better shows: The Middle, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, some stuff.

Or other option is to remove N@N and let Nickelodeon be 24/7

It is highly unlikely that TBS lets anyone else on cable have The Big Bang Theory for a long time, it does well for them and they will pay any amount necessary to keep it exclusive to TBS. The Middle would be an excellent show to air 9-11PM like Hallmark used to, but I would only want Nick at Nite picking it up if they removed all off the clock airings and started everything like it should be on the half hour, at least for that show. Otherwise I would rather see nighttime rights for The Middle go to WGN or some other network that would treat it right. And I would not consider Modern Family better, the less stations that overrated turd is on the better. Reba would be a good addition, and they might already have access to it with sister station TV Land airing Reba on Sundays. A personal favorite of mine from the 2000s is Hope and Faith, I would love to see that get good airings somewhere but it would probably flop. I would much rather see Hope and Faith get popularity though (not just Nick at Nite, I am referring to anywhere here) than overplayed 2000s dreck like That 70s Show, The Office, and The King of Queens.

Nick at Nite should Return to the oldies of 1950’s & 1960’s and 1970’s. They have tryed so many modern shows and they don’t seem to work.In addition to off the clock programming.

I do remember a few years ago they brought The Brady Bunch Back for a week or so at 5:30AM. Than ever since than they assumed Classics don’t work.

First They Should Of had The Brady Bunch Launch Week On nick@niTe with the Launch Starting at 9pm-7AM. With The Brady Bunch airring Regularly EveryNite at 9pm & 12AM & 3AM & 5:30AM.

The promo was terrible it said something like you know them by name and now there Back EveryNite on nick@niTe. It didn’t give a time it was on. So of course it failed and showing a show only at 5:30AM of course it’s not going to perform.

Secondly Cyma Zarghami who was in charge of nick@nite at that time wasn’t a fan of Retunning Classics. She Wanted The Brady Bunch for the failed nick mom that aired at nite time on nick jr. and called The Brady Bunch What Carol Brady was Thinking Where raunchy statements came up. Perhaps that’s 2 Classics not working even though it was the same show.

Hopefully now Viacom-New person in charge of nick@nite Brian Robbins will do whatever it takes to make there agenda work.

In Conclusion when NICK at NITE launched in the 80’ as the First ever Classic TV Network airring Programming from the 1950’s & 1960’s & 1970’s the format worked and put time creativity in it and made it work. In addition advertised its shows with not wanting to turn the channel during the commercials because of the fun and creative promos that aired.

Here it is 2019 and people still love classic TV from Me TV & Antenna TV and perhaps TVLand Returnning to its roots soon.

nick@niTe needs to think what has worked. What has seen success. What can we do to get back to that. To me my solution is Classic TV (1950’s & 1960’s & 1970’s). With Creativity! In addition No off the clock Programming!

http://www.nickandmore.com/2012/05/1...-nick-at-nite/

As far as I can remember, N@N returned Brady Bunch started late Mon May 19, 2012 airing 5AM hour (temporarily replaced Family Matters, but that later returned in Sept 2012 and lasted Dec 31, 2012), though IIRC, it lasted 5 weeks.

I agree when I did saw a promo for Brady Bunch rejoining N@N, maybe the reason they didn't mention the time was because N@N ran off the clock.

Honesly I didn't know Cyma hated the classics returning to N@N lineup. Hanging with Mr. Cooper was the lost early 90s sitcom that aired on N@N from Jan 2014-Sept 2014 but does that count as classic?

That was a good idea.. I agree they should've done with launch marathon if ratings wasn't the issue.
But I did recall the last time there had launch marathon was How I Met Your Mother in Sept 2014, but that only lasted 3 days due to low ratings

http://www.nickandmore.com/2014/09/1...edule-changes/

But I can list of N@N new shows that did NOT have launch marathon, but everything before 2012, I really don't know if there had launch marathon.

Yes Dear (May 1, 2012)
The Adventures of Old Christine (Oct 2013)
Hanging with Mr. Cooper (Jan 2014)
Everybody Loves Raymond (Jan 1, 2015)
The Goldbergs (Sept 2017)
Two and a Half Men (Dec 2017)
Mom (Jul 2018)
The Office (Jan 1, 2019)
King of Queens (Jan 1, 2019)

If the Launch Marathon can’t last than why should the show stay on nick@niTe?

Adding Shows like I Love Lucy & Leave It To Beaver & The Brady Bunch & Bewitched & The Munsters & The Andy Griffith Show & Donna Reed & Dennis the Menace & The Monkees and The Dick Van Dyke Show & The Bob Newhart Show & The Mary Tyler Moore Show & My Three Sons and etc. Can air any time slot. In addition would be great Launch Marathons.

nick@niTe go (1950’s & 1960’s & 1970’s) it works!!!

Because N@N nowadays is NOT a classic block as it once was before. The reason they can't do launch marathon block was because of the ratings. N@N doesn't even have on demand service. So I think in my opinion, it's a useless block. I mean, this lineup with The Office and King of Queens although I don't watch those N@N block anymore, I think it's the best lineup and variety

I think TVLand might be going back to classics
