This is not a list of personal favorites, or underrated shows, or the most popular series back in the day.
I was watching Hogan's Heroes on ME TV the other day, it occurred to me how enduring this series is. It seems like it has been in almost continuous reruns since it first aired. It has been shown in a prime slot on ME TV for years. It got me thinking about the most popular series in rerun history from the 60's, I'll do 5, and 4 and 5 I'm not that positive about, but the first three are set: The Andy Griffith Show (there is no doubt about this one) Hogan's Heroes (Let me say for the record I don't like this show, but facts are facts) Gilligan's Island (I think it ranked behind Griffith until the past decade, but has now been passed by Hogan) Flintstones (again it's been in reruns for over 50 years) Bewitched (not sure of this ranking) To be clear, this is a list based on informal observation, if someone has some hard data they would like to share on this topic................. |

I’d definitely say...
“The Andy Griffith Show” is probably #1 These are also highly popular in reruns: “Bewitched” “Gilligan’s Island” “Green Acres” & “The Beverly Hillbillies” used to be popular but not so much anymore. |

I've never understood the appeal of Hogans Heroes, but then again, aside from Gomer Pyle I've never really been fond of military sitcoms.
Andy Griffith Show has never really appealed to me either, although some episodes are good. Gilligan's Island is OK but I can't watch many episodes at one time because there's too much silliness going on. Flintstones is a good one, it's always been popular with me. Bewitched also. Dick Van Dyke Show is good too but to a lesser degree. I wonder what the ratings are for The Joey Bishop Show on Antenna TV. I imagine it's doing at least fairly well because it's been airing since 2017 and still on the schedule at the start of 2019. |
