At the Hartman residence, Tom and Mary are in bed. Mary tells him about Sgt. Foley asking if he can interview Heather. Tom checks on Heather, and the phone rings. Mary answers it. It is a man who's voice is not identifiable. He asks if Heather lives in the house to make sure he hsa the right one. Mary is made nervous by this and tells Tom about the call. Tom tells her it was probably some prank call. Tom and Mary are about to do things in bed (Wink Wink Nudge Nudge) when Tom says he's losing his 'momentum'. Mary suggests they take a hot shower. The next morning, Tom and Mary are eating breakfest. Tom is visibly upset. Mary and Tom talk about breakfest, and Mary blurts out 'Tom I love you!'. Tom says it's the worst thing she could say and leaves. It seems like he couldn't get it on with her last nite. Heather enters and asks Mary for a dollar and leaves. Mary starts crying, when Grandpa Larkin comes in. Larkin debates about what he should do today, while Mary makes him breakfest. Larkin then leaves cause its' already noon, not breakfest time. Cathy & Loretta run in and ask her what happened between her and Tom, and Mary does not want to tell them. Blanche comes in with her FATSO, a slogan she made up for a campaign to lower food prices. GS: Iris Korn as the Librarian Directed by Joan Darling. Written by Ann Marcus, Jerry Adelman, and Daniel Gregory Browne #06- Mary enters the library. She sees that the librarian on duty is a man and feels embarresed about getting her books on sex. She asks him where the female librarian went, and he replies that she has done her work for the day. Mary wants to get the books but is still embarresed. He feels that something is wrong and asks her if she is sure these aren't her books. Mary says her friend is Mary Hartman and that she can take the books with her. She leaves the library with the books in a brown paper bag so no one can see the titles. Meanwhile at the factory, it is lunch time. Tom and Charlie sit together and eat their lunch. Charlie says he knows something is wrong between Tom and Mary. Mae enters to tell Charlie she did something concerning the check he got for work. Charlie is made happy because Loretta can record in a studio that night! #07- Mary and Cathy are sitting down in the kitchen. Mary is in shock. How could Heather know anything about the Lombardi murders? Heather enters the kitchen but does not want to discuss the murders. Mary convinces Heather to tell them about what she knows about the murders by telling her she'll either tell her or go to the police and tells them. Heather tells them that she knew the Lombardi girl...Saraphena Lombardi. Heather picks her for a class project because no one picked her or Heather. She says she had a crush on Rocko Lombardi. She says she saw a man with a gun in the Lombardi house the night of the murders. Mary takes Heather to the police. Mary starts talking to Sgt. Foley at the station when Heather says she wants to go. Mary thinks she wants to leave the station, but Sgt. Foley immediatly tells Heather where the bathroom is and Heather leaves for the bathroom. Loretta, Blanche, and the other FATSO picketeers enter the station. The supermarket where they were picketing had called the police. Mary compliments Loretta's boots, and the FATSO picketeers are then moved into their cell. Meanwhile, Tom comes home. Charlie comes in right after him and notices Mary's sex books on the counters. Tom goes into a rage, then sits down to try to cool off. They find a note saying Mary and Heather are at the police station. Leroy Fedders, Blanche's husband, comes in demanding to see his wife. Heather is taking to a police sketch artist, but she then has to go. Tom and Charlie enter, and Charlie demands to see Loretta. Detective Johnson enters and says he will escourt Heather and protect her. The next morning, Detective Johnson, Mary, and Tom are having breakfest. Tom starts a conversation about guns which disturbs Mary. Mary gets another phone call but the person speaks to low for her to understand.

He must've seen her in the paper! Tom says that can't be because her back was turned to the paper's camera. Detective Johnson and Heather leave to go to school. Tom and Mary talk about the sex books. Mary does not like the subject of them. Tom says Mary humiliated him because Charlie saw those books. Mary starts crying and says she'll do anything Tom wants her to do. Tom says he just wants to have a normal family. Loretta enters to borrow a lot of food products from Mary because Blanche won't let Loretta buy anything from the supermarket so that the FATSO Movement can live on. Charlie enters and tells Tom they will be making the demo record soon. Charlie and Tom leave. Mary goes to the Shumway House because her wash cycle won't drain. Mary asks about Grandpa. Roberta enters. Martha introduces Mary to Roberta. Mary tries to get free advice on marriages from Roberta. Martha goes to get Grandpa, but he won't come and locks himself in the bathroom. Det. Johnson and Heather come home from school. Heather is on TV. Heather says that she looks flat, but Mary thinks she said she's fat. Heather tells her "Not fat! Flat! No bazooms!".
