Default Christmas traditions - Do you have any?

When I was younger, I used to open up one early Christmas present on Christmas Eve every year. Stopped doing that a few years ago though and now just wait until Christmas morning instead.

My parents would also read me the story of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas until I was old enough to read it myself.

However, there's a tradition that I still do to this very day. That is:

. Doing a "Countdown To Christmas" tree. There's a different ornament for each day that you count down from, and they all have different numbers on them which consists of toys.

What are yours?

Here are some of my family's Christmas traditions:
Watching Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas while we decorate the tree
Going to Cracker Barrel for Chistmas Eve breakfast and then in the evening
our annual Christmas Eve Feast while we watch the George C. Scott version
of A Christmas Carol
Christmas Breakfast with Oatmeal Raisin Pancakes
Christmas Dinner with Ham and all the trimmings

During the years I go to my mom's house (most years), she will play some Christmas songs on the piano. One of these songs is always "Star of the East", a traditional song that was popular in the late 1800s, but which has faded into obscurity in the modern era. The sheet music for this song came with the piano, which was built in 1899.

We also open some presents on Christmas Eve, and some on Christmas Day, to make the gift-giving last longer.

Usually, we choose a theme color for the Christmas tree. This year, it is silver and purple. In previous years, it has been green and red, blue and gold, silver and gold, white and clear, etc.

When I go to my dad's house for Christmas (less common), we've usually gone to Disney World.

A tradition of my parents is the annual watching of A Christmas Carol. Their favorite version is the one with Alistair Sim.
