The adorable lovable Sanrio star Hello Kitty starred in her very own cartoon series called Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater that featured Hello Kitty starring in versions of classic fairy tales and movies all done with a Hello Kitty twist and though I don't know when in the 80's the cartoon series aired this cartoon was so cute

This cartoon aired on NBC in 1987. Selected episodes are available on DVD. Theres a few other Hello Kitty series that have never made it outside of Japan.

Hello kitty premiered in 1974. The very first product was a small coin purse with her image on it. Only one of these coin purses are known to be left on Earth- it was purchased for over a million USD by Sanrio themselves for their Hello Kitty museum.

If you have Netflix, there's a series called The Toys That Made Us, one of the episodes is about Hello Kitty.
