How do you make your dressing?
This was my mom’s recipe....however, it always varied from year to year. 2 cakes of cornbread: (For each cake of cornbread: mix 2 cups of cornmeal, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 beaten egg, 2/3 cup of milk, 1 heaping tablespoon of butter, 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Bake at 350 until golden brown.) When cornbread is baked, crumble it up finely in a large mixing bowl with the following ingredients: 32oz of vegetable broth 3 beaten eggs 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 large finely chopped onion About 5/6 finely chopped long sticks of celery 1 teaspoon of paprika 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper Sage to taste (keep tasting to make sure you have enough) Mix everything together and pour into baking dish (spray dish with cooking spray), bake at 350 until golden brown and firm. |

We make our dressing from dried white bread. We add a few raisins(That's our German touch) Love it!
