I ask this because in mid-July, WBNX switched from the CW to its own station again after 20+ years...has other stations that are independent becoming strong and will this be a new form of superstations in the future?

We have one here in Indy--channel 4.2 is owned by Tribune, but it isn't affiliated with any network. The question is, what do these stations do when they are independent? This one just runs the same old judge shows, game shows, reality shows, a few predictable sitcoms, etc.--shows 4.1 doesn't have room for, I guess. Pretty boring.
A couple of good things they do, IMO: TAGS 2X at 8 am, and unlike MeTV they do run all the episodes; Seinfeld 2X at 10 pm. |

I would like to see the independent stations become superstations...like TBS or WGN....

What we need are just old school TV stations showing reruns and old movies. Dialing for dollars and bowling for love.

KCPQ was a very good station in the 80s, before they affiliated with FOX. It was tagged as The Northwest's Movie Station. They played the movies that Ted Turner bought, and are now played on TCM.
