Lisa Gerritsen, "Bess", has she found happiness? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I know that Lisa Gerritsen walked away from Hollywood and never looked back. My only hope is that she is happy. I know that sometimes the cast, and certainly their friends come to this board, if nothing else just to look. I don't want to invade Lisa's privacy, but I just wanted to know if Lisa has found the happiness she has sought in life.

One of the finest moments in journalism, is when Eric Zorn of The Chicago Tribune found out Lisa's phone number and decided not to call her. He had been doing an articlle about the MTM reunion show. He had a serious crush on Lisa as a kid, but decided that she chose to lead a private life since she quit acting, and he would show her the consideration that she deserved, not as fan of "Bess", but a friend of Lisa's: just one that she didn't know she had. I spoke to Eric and I know it was the right thing to do.

I was researching the life of Anissa Jones and have run across story after story, where being a child star has turned into a disaster. Anissa came very close to finding the happiness that she sought; I believe, because she had the courage to quit acting and walk away from Hollywood. Just like Lisa. But too many child stars end up like Bobby Driscoll and Dana Plato. And that is sad.

If Lisa has found happiness, good for her; if she is still looking I wish her all the luck in the world. I guess I am just another friend that Lisa didn't know she had.
