Default dress code

what's your school's dress code?

mine's pretty simple..

no baggie pants
no pants below waist (of course all the guys pull em all the way down, i'm so sick of seeing boxers everyday!)
no tube tops
no hats (excpet the ones that are from our school, those we can wear)

that's basically it. lol..we can wear sandals, spaghetti straps, whatever. my middle school was so strict.

Well, at my middle school, we had to be covered from shoulder to mid thigh. No tank tops. Shorts had to be past our fingertips. WE had to wear socks with sandals. No hats at all. Nothing that covered our head. At all. And then theres your basic "No drug stuff, no alcohol stuff, no gang signs, and no crab shirts."

I don't know about high school though.

I have no clue what mine is. I do know that it's not strict though.

We have to wear uniforms so it really sucks. We can only wear black pants, plad skirt or pants, a black white or gold collered uniform shirt, with black white or gold shoes and socks. And if we wear a shirt underneath it has to be black white or gold, but I hardly ever do that. If we wear any hair accessories, they can only be black white or gold which is stupid. No hats unless school hats, and no scarfs. No dying your hair any other color other than black white or gold. They're really strict on the uniform policy, but hardly anyone ever follows it.

My school wasn't too strict compared to your guys'.

- No spaghetti straps
- No gangwear
- Shorts/ skirts had to be to your fingertips
- No showing your stomach
- No dog collars (lol That one is funny, but people were wearing dog/ cat collars.)
- Not 'extreme' hair colors or styles besides on 'Wacky Hair Day' - which was always rather pathetic.
- No clothes with inappropriate pictures or words.
- No sagging your pants where people could see your underwear.

Other than that..We could wear sunglasses, hats (just not indoors- obviously), and basically anything.

Heck, I had a nose ring while I was in school. The most any teacher said was 'Did that hurt?'

Well, it's been a while since I graduated (Dec. 99), but, if I remember correctly:

No midriffs
No shirts that advertise drugs/tobacco/alcohol
No torn jeans or clothing
No "gang related" clothing
No clothing that could possibly express your individuality.

Okay, the fifth one wasn't in the book, but it might as well been.

I often broke the third one. Many of my jeans had holes in the knees. That was just my "style" back then. But, I only got called on it once because most of my teachers liked me and let me get away with a lot of stuff. (Kissing up pays off. Seriously. Don't let anyone tell you differently. It never hurts to be on your bosses/teacher's good side.)

The dress code at my school was really dumb. I'm glad I'm out of that school because my nerves was really wearing thin.

Shirts tucked in
No short shorts
No busting slack
No unnatural hair colors- ( I think if its my hair, I'll do whatever I want with it. It's my business if I dye it blue with orange streaks or whatever)
No unnatural piercings.

I could go on and on about the dress code, but I think I'll stop here.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen a teacher do was this year when she brought out her ruler and went around to every student and measured to make sure their shorts were of proper length. It was hilarious. I never expected a teacher would actually do it, even though it had been threatened many times. Kudos to the teacher however, it took guts. Oh, and needless to say, many people went home early that day.
