Default Did actor Michael Lembeck retire from acting to directing sitcoms now?

I was watching Newsradio and I happened to see the name Michael Linebeck as a director in the credits and it makes me think that it's Michael Linebeck who used to appear on One Day At A Time and he moved on from sitcom star to sitcom director. Is Michael Linebeck directing sitcoms now and what other sitcoms has he directed besides Newsradio?

You're thinking of Michael Lembeck, who played Julie's husband Max on One Day at a Time and later became a director.

If he decides to act again, I have the perfect role for him. Billy Flynn in Chicago.

Michael Lembeck is now a director of sitcoms? What a surprise because he was a terrific actor and is now showing off his talent as a director. Bonniegirl would love to know this fact because Michael Lembeck is one of Bonnie's crushes

I think she already knows that fact by now.

Michael Lembeck hasn't had any major acting roles since 1985, and his last acting credit was in 1995...unless you count his 2015 acting credit in the role of "director"...so I think it's safe to say he's a director now.

Michael Lembeck comes from a great acting family. His sister Helaine appeared as Judy Borden on "Welcome Back Kotter" and their father Harvey was Cpl. Rocco Barbella on "The Phil Silvers Show" and later on was absolutely hilarious as Erik Von Zipper in the "Beach Party" movies with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Harvey and Michael also guest starred on "The Partridge Family" where they played a father and son nightclub staff.

He might have. Some actors don't act anymore for some reason so they direct TV shows like Jerry from Newhart and Fred Savage from the Woner years.

Last night, I watched the newest episode of Murphy Brown. It was directed by Michael Lembeck.
