Default Ricky Nelson

Same time as LITB. I wonder why they did not mention many popular people on the show
Wally looks like him at times.

I wish they had played more "real" music like this on LITB, rather than all those canned, generic songs that Wally (and sometimes Beaver) danced to.

Yeah why not mention Ricky and Ozzie and Harriet. Maybe they were on a different network. Why constantly mention Sal Mineo, Tony Curtis and Tuesday Weld and not James Dean or Marilyn Monroe. I think they mention Bobby Darrin too.

Wouldn’t it have been funnier if The Barons all looked like Marilyn Manson??

O&H and LITB were both on ABC.

I remember Wally mentioned Bennett Cerf, who was on the CBS panel show What's My Line?, and Jack Paar, who was the Tonight Show host on NBC. He also mentioned McHale's Navy (another Revue show, and on ABC), and I think Beaver mentioned Men Of Annapolis, which was a syndicated show, and Ben Casey, which was on ABC. So I guess it didn't matter what network shows were on--LITB writers were equal-opportunity mentioners.

I must have missed that or was not as familiar with the names mentioned. I know on the BBunch that if someone was famous, they were brought on to the show. Don Drysdale and Davy Jones are two that come to mind.

Don Drysdale in fact was on a bunch of sitcoms, including LITB and The Beverly Hillbillies.

"Long Distance Call."

Beaver and two of his friends were at Beaver's house, started making silly prank phone calls, and then decided to call Don Drysdale long distance.

I have seen that one plus I said to myself that he looked so much younger on LITB than he did on the B Bunch. I guess it slipped my mind.

Don Drysdale was also in an episode of The Rifleman. Hey wasn’t Joe Namath on an episode of BBunch? He was very popular around that time. How about Desi Arnez, Jr. who looks just like his old man.

Drysdale really made the sitcom rounds. Yes, Namath was on BB, as were Arnaz and Davy Jones (who sang an absolutely horrible song.) Other notables were Vincent Price, Don Ho (cameo), E. G. Marshall and Imogene Coca.

You don't consider this a toe-tapping little diddy?

And, I take back what I said about him being on The Beverly Hillbillies.

I based that on the Wikipedia entry without checking it out for myself.

There was a baseball-themed episode, but Drysdale was not in it.

It doesn't start out too bad, but it turns pretty nauseating, IMO.

I'd rather listen to the Brady kids. Or Johnny Bravo.
