Sometime around 1994, UM aired the story about a young 26-year-old businessman who disappeared. I think his last name was Cheek. What was the outcome, or is this case still unresolved?

If there was no update to that segment, then more than likely it remains unresolved.
Hope this helps. |

I used to think that he suffered a breakdown due to stress, but the Charley Project page makes me think that foul play is more likely, due to the dumping of the car and how he was intoxicated, thus making him more vulnerable.

I think foul play due to him not turning up after all these years. I think he was accosted after his friend dropped him off.

I think he was depressed because a big business deal fell through which led to his intoxication which led to his suicide. There is also the possibility that he did suffer some sort of mental breakdown and is still alive and that the trucker who bought him breakfast really did see Cheek. But we all know how unreliable eyewitnesses are.

I think John Cheek ended up meeting foul play due to his mental state and having not shown up after all these years. Hopefully some trace of him will be found someday.
