In the music scene I've noticed that good R&B singers are becoming hard to find today and I would like to know why this is? Is it because the R&B genre is slowly being taken over by rap and hip-hop music or is it because pop and rock have replaced R&B as a popular music genre now? Take for instance in the 50's it was easy for R&B singers to make their marks and with singers like Frankie Lymon and Little Anthony of the group Little Anthony And The Imperials R&B music was timeless and great for dancing at parties but then as the 60's began with the debut of The Motown Sound when Motown Records was launched we had singers like Diana Ross and Martha Reeves that became huge stars and then when Aretha Franklin became popular releasing hit after hit it soon proved that this style of music had brought a fresh look to the music scene. The same thing happened with male singers like Little Richard and Jackie Wilson and Ray Charles and Brook Benton who sung wonderful ballads and party tunes. Once the 70's began a new breed of R&B singers made changes to the music scene and so with singers like Lou Rawls Barry White Donna Summer and Betty Wright and many other singers making fabulous albums on the music charts there was people that were impressed with the new soul music that was being put out in the 70's. But today if you look at R&B music today you'll see singers like R. Kelly and Chris Brown making their marks in music and in female singers it seems like singers like Beyonce and Keyshia Cole have replaced the traditional R&B singers today but if you look at the general picture you will never find another Michael Jackson or another Ray Charles or even another Little Richard in today's male singers and in female singers you won't find another Diana Ross or another Aretha Franklin or another Gladys Knight and so it seems that we really would like to hear great R&B singers that can sing really good songs that have lyrics that people can sing along with
