Hey everyone,
Is there a master list of all of the different segment categories ever shown on UM? I am a nerd and just started one cause I want to know how many there have ever been in the show's history. I started out with the categories listed from the three different main show intro segments: S1: UNSOLVED MYSTERIES THE INVESTIGATORS SCI-MED LOST LOVES FINAL APPEAL THE UNEXPLAINED LOST HEIRS MISSING PERSONS WANTED S2 added: SOLVED S6 added: LEGENDS FRAUD TREASURE S10 added: MIRACLES ...and here's a numbered master list plus a few I can think of that were never shown in the show's intro: UNSOLVED MYSTERIES 1. THE INVESTIGATORS 2. SCI-MED 3. LOST LOVES 4. FINAL APPEAL 5. THE UNEXPLAINED 6. LOST HEIRS 7. MISSING PERSONS 8. WANTED 9. SOLVED 10. LEGENDS 11. FRAUD 12. TREASURE 13. MIRACLES 14. UNEXPLAINED DEATH (so common but never mentioned in show title sequence) 15. UPDATES 16. SPECIAL ALERT 17. AMNESIA Please feed me some more so I can update the list! (Or let me know if such a list/tally already exists!) -bip |

What a cool idea! I don't think anything like this exists yet. I never really thought of that, but it would be interesting to see how the case labels evolved over the years (until they eventually dropped them altogether).

I think it would be neat to have a count on how many times each title was used as I know some were a lot more popular than others.

This post may be of some help; it's from a UM presskit from 1996, which includes a tally of all of the cases that the show had profiled, broken down by category. It also identifies how many cases were solved as a result of the show. Of course, it only goes up to 1996, but it's still very interesting.
According to it, Wanted fugitives were featured the most, followed by Lost Loves, Unexplained Death, and Missing Persons. |
