At least today MeTV kept in the scene when the boys try to leave the house wearing the monster sweatshirts, it gave the script more credence because at least they tried to keep the bargain. When they cut it out it’s like they double crossed him.

I noticed that too--I think TV Land edited that, too. Again I mention, I sometimes think the MeTV people read these boards.
Maybe next time around they'll restore the missing scene from Lumpy's Car Trouble, where they get to the gas station. I wish somebody would find that missing Miss Landers line from June's Birthday. That still bugs me. |

I like in Borrowed Boat when they cut out the scene where June says Wally and Tooey are working on a scooter. When a cop calls for Wally June says “I know it’s about that scooter.” We don’t know what she means.

That's one of the bad things about editing. You may think you're taking out something irrelevant, but when it comes up later, it's "huh?"

Way back when I started watching LITB on TV Land they did a lot of editing. When I watched on Retro TV later I saw a lot of scenes TV Land had cut out.

TV Land used to be in the normal syndicated range, 22 minutes or so. So around 2-1/2 to 3 minutes cut (now they're much worse). MeTV is a little better, with a combination of time compression (speeding up the episode) and editing, they are around 23 minutes. When you introduce time compression, it's hard to determine how much they're editing out, unless you go to the trouble of carefully comparing it to the DVD (as we know, they don't always remove whole scenes, sometimes it's snippets her and there).
I'll have to watch the Borrowed Boat episode on DVD. Weren't there a few episodes where they talked about Tooey's scooter? |

Yeah I believe they’re still talking about that scooter in the episode that followed Borrowed Boat. Speaking of that I liked when a character mentions something that actually happened in a previous episode. In a later episode Ward mentioned how Wally got that nose gadget because he hated his nose. I think it was the freckles episode.

I think it was in Family Scrapbook Ward said something about not showing Beaver his baby picture--last time he locked himself in the bathroom. Not quite, if it's the naked one.

I think when Beaver comes home wearing the monster sweatshirt Ward mentions how Wally was given a Mohawk haircut by Eddie, or almost. In reality Wally did have the Jellyroll hair cut but Eddie never did. Ward was just talking about how kids like to express themselves. I remember a girl at work made her face up like Boy George. That didn’t last long.

Then there's the Sheep Dog where Beaver loses his cool with Wally and calls him, you pug nose, you. (Hope I have the right episode--I know I flubbed this one before!)
