Hello everyone!
I was watching season 2 and the Jeannie breaks the bank episode the living room set looks to be more the the season 1 set then the rest of season 2. myself I like the first season set, wonder why they didn't keep it, any ideas of why the change? |

This episode was filmed (February 24, 1966) near the end of season 1 before the set was remodeled. "Fastest Gun in the East" was also filmed during season 1 (January 27, 1966) In fact it was completed in color before the final black and white episode was filmed ("I'll Never Forget What's Her Name" on February 17, 1966).
Not sure why they stuck in two color episodes early and saved them for season 2. Neither of these episodes feature any shots of the bottle, which suggests none had been revised in the purple design yet. However, Barbara did get her season 2 costume for "Jeannie Breaks the Bank." No harem costume was seen in "Fastest Gun." I think Jeannie inherited an existing set for season 1. I would guess they redesigned it to better suit filming needs for season 2 on. Just a guess. |

I believe the two colored episodes were filmed sort of as a "test." Sidney Sheldon wanted to see how everything would look in color. Then they were held to be shown in season 2.

I just wish with all of the set changes that they did make to the show during the years it was on that air that they had at least made one earlier episode showing how Tony's house was getting remodeled so quickly and easily. Imagine Dr. Bellows visiting Tony one morning, only to visit again later that day to a house that had its walls, furniture, ceilings, doors and whole layout rearranged
![]() Yes, they did that once much later in the fifth season, but the interior had been moved around several times by then, and no one ever seemed to notice. Normal house remodeling is a long and messy job. Someone other than Tony would have noticed it happening and commented for weeks on its progress. |
